Breyer Animal Creations® starts out as the Breyer Molding Company, a Chicago-based plastics manufacturer. His first horse model, the # 57 Western Horse, made its appearance in 1950. There was a special order for the FW Woolworth Company, made to adorn a table clock. Breyer has been inundated with requests from people who have wanted to know if they could buy just the horse. With that first horse, the Breyer Molding Company has changed the focus of its business forever!

Reeves International, Inc is a New Jersey corporation, founded by Swiss businessman Werner J. Fleischmann in 1946. Reeves enters the toy industry as the American distributor of European fine toys and collectibles for the "carriage trade", that is , specialized toy stores and fine department stores. Top brands like Stieff, Corgi and Britains have gone staples of the Reeves International portfolio.

Through these excellent brands, Reeves has earned an excellent reputation in sales and distribution. From 1946 through the 1970s, Reeves became one of the nation's leading distributors, operating out of its New York City showroom with a nationwide sales force. In 1998, Anthony Fleischmann purchased Reeves International, Inc. directly from his father Werner Fleischmann.

Today, Reeves International is more focused than ever on its flagship brand, Breyer Horses.
