It is the story of a family business, passed down from mother to son. A sustainable company whose only watchwords are creativity. Daring and passion. The game of this family In the Djeco family, a tribute to the mother, Véronique Michel-Dalès. It was she who created her small business in 1954, at a time when few women had embarked on this type of adventure. She imagines learning games like the “four Thursday lottery” or “My flea house”. Beautiful, clever and fun at the same time, Djeco's games, in reference to the gecko, the lucky little lizard, have been very successful and have been awarded four toy Oscars in the sixties.

The family business has gone dormant and his son Frédéric has grown up... In 1989, the young man has decided to wake Djeco up and has taken over the family business as a playground. It installs its offices in the old warehouse. Initially, he has traveled to the four corners of the planet and imported toys that did not exist in France. His vision of the world still permeates small French companies. Then he dreams of toys he can't find on the market.
So all he has to do...is create them!
In 1997, gifted with an unusual artistic sensibility In the world of toys, he invented a collection of educational toys. Wooden puzzles, wooden toys, cardboard puzzles lead the way, then the range expands with card games and board games.
In 2007, the original workshop boxes revolutionized creative hobbies. 2011 sees the arrival of Arty toy figures with unclassifiable looks. Since then, completely new collections have been regularly born, designed by an artistic direction that favors graphics, design and aesthetics. A new era in the game opens.
Djeco in the world
Since the beginning of the adventure, his toys have been translated into many languages for children around the world. It is always with amazement and pride that they imagine that in more than 60 countries children play with their toys!
All over the world, their toys are distributed in quite specialized stores that resemble them, according with your values. Prestigious museums also select their toys: the Louvre and the Quai Branly in France, but also the Tate Gallery in Great Britain, the Moma in the United States and many others in Germany, Denmark...
Each production is controlled so that the quality of all products meets your requirements. This is how they guarantee the quality and safety of their toys.
They select their suppliers: Evaluation of the quality level of their suppliers by carrying out detailed analyzes of the key points (internal organization, experience, safety control and quality...).
They carry out tests on their products: Their toys are subjected to long and complex tests, complying with the requirements of the European standard EN71 and the REACH regulation. The «CE» mark inscribed on the packaging indicates that the product complies with the standards and the symbol that indicates that the toy is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
They control each production so that the quality and the safety of your products are always guaranteed:
Safety: when they receive the finished pre-production samples, they carry out tests in France, in an accredited laboratory.
Quality: once the laboratory has declared the product to be compliant, the team responsible for quality analyzes it and records the numerous control points that must be taken into account during production. This detailed analysis allows them to establish a highly accurate quality sheet, which is then sent to inspectors.
During manufacturing: Your inspectors visit factories, carrying this quality sheet, to check all the mentioned points. They then send a detailed report on each product to their team, who can assess the level of quality and contact their factories for further analysis before shipment.
After manufacturing: Samples are taken by their inspectors from random production for testing in accredited laboratories. Once the team has validated the quality analysis and the laboratory tests have been confirmed, the toys can be delivered.
Play safely: safety is not a game. All of its toys are subjected to draconian controls and a series of tests and compliance with regulations in order to guarantee absolute safety for children.
The pleasure of creating: With your hands in the paint or head in the clouds, more than half of the team works on product design. There is no mass marketing or communication plan there! They prefer to spend their time imagining beautiful toys, of which they are proud. It's much more fun and it works!
Absolute freedom, appreciated by Djeco, which gives rise to pleasure and the most extravagant ideas. As if they were children, they imagine fun games and toys for everyone, which will make them dream, laugh and discover. Surrounded by specialists in different fields -graphic artists, designers, illustrators and inventors- we investigate, experiment, share... and from this boiling toys of a thousand and one colors are born.
But beware! Although quality and aesthetics are essential, they also look for what is ingenious, practical and, above all, achievable. Arouse admiration in the child, enrich their imagination, make them want to continue discovering... that's what motivates them. The finishes of the objects and containers are made considering even the smallest detail. The explanatory brochures, the small cards, the decorative boxes and the tips guide the little ones, for a result that will make those around them blush with joy!
More than a thousand products, three main axes (toys and games, decoration and crafts) and the launch of new ranges every year. They like to constantly innovate and do not hesitate to take risks so that their dreams come to life. Always ready for the unpredictable and the original!
