Bert and Ernie (Epi and Blas in Spain, Enrique and Beto in Latin America) are two puppets with a regular appearance on the television program Sesame Street (Barrio Sésamo in Spain and Plaza Sésamo in Hispanoamérica). In Spain their names were translated by taking the first letter of the names in the English version Bert and Ernie. They appear in many comedic numbers that became one of the show's main attractions. In Germany, on the RTL channel, they put on a humorous short of Epi and Blas with only one eye called Bernie und Ert.
