Exploding Kittens is a card game where you start the game with four cards plus a special card that allows you to avoid elimination if you encounter an Exploding Kitten during the game.
On your turn you first play the cards you want to take advantage of their special abilities, and then you draw. Some of these abilities have benefits for you, such as looking at the top three cards of the deck, and others allow you to complicate life for the rest of the participants.
You can force the next player to play two turns in a row, but he may be able to repel your attack with one of his cards. Once you don't want to play any more cards from your hand it's time to draw. It is the moment of tension with everyone waiting to see how you jump into the air when you encounter an Exploding Kitten... Will you jump into the air or escape?
Exploding Kittens has an element of chance, of course, because the exploding kittens are hidden in the deck where everyone draws cards. But if you play your cards right, never better said, you can escape the dreaded moment of blindly drawing a card, or snoop on the next cards in the deck and thus plan your next move.
If everything fails and you are eliminated, you can always liven up the game of the rest of the contenders by simulating the sound of an explosion every time someone joins you on the eliminated side. But if things go well for you, you will emerge victorious and gain the respect of the feline world. Which is no small thing.
