Description
The game "Code Names" is a team-based word game where players must guess the words that refer to their secret agents based on single-word clues given by their spymaster. Each team competes to be the first to identify all of their agents on the 25-word grid, but they must be careful not to choose the assassin, as that would end the game immediately with that team's defeat. The spymaster will call out a number, which will tell their teammates how many code names are related to that clue. The field agents will try to guess which word or words their spymaster is referring to. When an agent touches a word, the spymaster will reveal their secret identity. "Code Names" is a competitive team-based board game that combines intrigue and deduction, where two teams of spies must uncover their secret agents before the opposing team. The leaders of each team know the agents' secret identities, but the other players only know their code names. The game involves giving clues consisting of a single word and a number for your teammates to guess the correct words on a 5x5 grid. How to Play Setup: Place a 5x5 grid with randomly placed word cards on the table. Divisions: Divide into two teams, and each team chooses a leader (spy chief). Code Card: Only the leaders can see a code card that tells them which words belong to their team, which belong to the opposing team, which are neutral civilians, and which is the assassin. Turns: In turn, the leader of each team gives a clue consisting of a single word and a number. The word is the clue, and the number indicates how many words on the table relate to that clue. For example, "animal: 3" indicates that there are three words related to an animal. Guessing: Teammates must guess the correct words. If they guess correctly, they can try again (up to a number of times equal to the clue number plus one). Mistakes: If a team guesses a word belonging to the opposing team or a civilian, their turn ends. If they guess the assassin, they lose the game immediately. Victory: The first team to correctly identify all their words wins.
