The famous game of Chinese origin with which more than 200 figures can be formed by combining just 7 pieces of different geometric shapes.

The tangram (Chinese: 七巧板, pinyin: qī qiǎo bǎn; "seven boards of cunning", referring to the qualities that the game requires) is a very ancient Chinese game, which consists of forming silhouettes of figures with the seven pieces given without overlap them. The 7 pieces, called "Tans", are the following:

5 triangles, two built with the main diagonal of the same size, the two small ones in the central strip are also the same size and one medium size located in a corner.

1 parallelogram or rhomboid

Usually the "Tans" are stored in a square.

There are several versions about the origin of the tangram, one of the most famous with the Latin word "grama" which means written or graphic. Another version says that the origin of the game dates back to the years 618 to 907 of our era, when the Tang dynasty reigned in China from which its name would be derived.
