The history of Corolle is a French success story that began in 1979 and continues today. The creations that mark the history of Corolle allow children to continue dreaming in order to learn to grow.
1979 - Born in the heart of Touraine
Corolle was born in 1979 in Langeais, in the heart of Touraine. At that time, the French government encouraged companies to settle, with financial help, more than 250 km from Paris. Legend has it that the founders of the company, Jacques and Catherine Réfabert, have taken a compass and a Michelin ® map to draw a circle equivalent to the required distance. They then wrote to all the notaries of the towns along the route: Langeais' lawyer was the only one who responded!
The name Corolle, meanwhile, was invented by Carole, the daughter of Jacques and Catherine Réfabert, who advocated using her own name.
1980 - Darling, the first baby
Baby darling, the first baby-sized baby actual (52cm). The founders of Corolle's two little neighbors inspired them with the idea of having babies that look like real newborns. That year the iconic baby doll of the brand was born with a size of 52cm, that of a true newborn. The Baby Chéri was immediately adopted by children and since then success has never been denied.
1984 - Expansion of the infant range

1987 - Creation of the range of stuffed animals
Very soft stuffed animals to help the little ones wake up senses and unleash their emotions from birth.
1995 - Corolle creates the first 12-inch baby Calin with a flexible body and sleepy eyes that assumes and maintains all the positions of a real baby! ! It is perfectly suitable for children over 18 months so they can easily carry it in their little arms.
1998 - Opening of the Corolle Clinic. Corolle opens a clinic for her dolls in which Dr. Sophie operates. Almost 500 babies are treated at the clinic each year.
2002 - The first 30 cm baby doll with a flexible body that can be bathed, floated and dried after bathing appears. Light, easy to handle for the little ones, it is the ideal companion for all water games (bath, pool, sea).
2012 - 2015 - Corolle innovates and launches into "fast-fashion" with my Corolle: the personalization and permanent renewal of collections at the heart of a new marketing concept.
2016 - The Babicorolle range is renamed my Corolle doudou. A complete range of soft toys designed for babies from day one. Perfect birth gifts!
2017 - Corolle imagines my darling creation, an entirely new concept that combines doll play and creative hobbies, blending fashion, style and customization for a whole new play value.< /p>
2018 - The Corolle company was acquired on April 1 by the SIMBA Dickie group, which affirms its ambition to develop the brand in terms of product extension and export development.
2019 - Corolle celebrates its 40th anniversary! 40 years of unforgettable memories linked to the touch, sight and scent of vanilla from each of our first Corolle dolls.
Corolle combines quality with safety
Corolle attaches great importance to respecting quality at all stages of the manufacture of its products and pays special attention to compliance with European and American standards. Physical, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and flammability safety tests are implemented to ensure optimal product safety and rule out all reasonably foreseeable hazards.

French creation
In Corolle, 30% to 40% of the collection is renewed every year. Each one must reflect the tastes and trends of its time and fit into all the scenarios of the game: vacations by the sea, meal times, walks, etc. It is at Langeais that the five-person team from the Creation department passionately imagines, designs and selects the different models, fabrics and materials. Sketches, photos, patterns, colors and shapes directly inspired by the child's universe are then chosen and assembled to make their dolls as contemporary as possible. It is also the creative team that designs, at Langeais, the exclusive fabrics for the clothing collections. The graphic menu of each of the Maison Corolle fabrics is available in all the media, as well as in the shop windows that have always made the dreams of young and old come true.
